Emma's July Update
Ulster Championships 4th Round Donemana near Derry
Emma McQuaid just seems to keep getting better. Emma rode her J M Quads YFZ 450 Yamaha at the 4th round of the Ulster Championships at Donemana near Derry. After a week of rain the track was in great condition. Emma went out in her
qualifying race and qualified 1st.
In in her next race she didn't get the best of starts and was 8th in to the first corner but then got caught up in an accident and fell back to 17th place, but that didn't phase her as she came back through the pack in true "McQuaid" style and finished in 4th place, she had some ground to make up as the race only lasted 12mins plus one lap.
The next race saw Emma finish in 2nd place and that left her taking third postion overall on the day.
At the end of the meeting Emma had jumped up the leader board from 4th to 2nd position.
Gormanstown
Emma rode at Gormanstown and came 3rd place in her first race.
In her next race try as she might she had to be content with 4th place and in her final race of the day she finished 2nd which meant overall she took 1st place and was a great winner on the day.
All of which equates to Emma lying in 3rd place in the Irish Championship.
Emma has been selected to ride in a team competing in the 12 hour endurance race in Pont da Vaux in France in August. She will be competing in the under 18 youth section and a mixed section as her team mates are two lads.
