Event: British Championship Rd 6
Track: Silverstone
Bike: Aprilia 550
Weather: Dry

Qualifying

I had been fastest in both the free practice sessions and everthing seemed to be coming really easy. The bike was working really well and I was riding fairly within myself as I knew I only needed a 10th in one of the 3 races to wrap up the title. Still I put the Aprilia on pole with a gap of 1.5 seconds over the 2nd place finisher which is absolutely absurd! It should have been even more though, on the final lap I had a mega lap and I was totally out of safe mode and in the whole lets see how fast you can really really go mode but that was obviously a silly thing to do with such a gap and I was thinking just that as I flew through the air after being highsided off the bike. It was total rider error as I ran slightly wide and onto some dirty tarmac while hard on the gas and it threw me. Luckily I was unharmed but the bike was a bit of a wreck that meant a lot of work that evening.
Finished: 2nd

Race 1

I got a pretty poor start to the first race but slotted into 4th happily enough and then passed Winstanley when he made a mistake at the end of the 1st lap. I was then setting my sights on Chris Hodgson who was riding really well. I was thinking ahead as to where I could pass him when all of a sudden I was down. It happened so quickly I was on my backside before I even knew I had crashed. It was such a fast crash I was awarded the Michelin 'Ouch that hurts' award at the end of the day. Anyway I got back on but the reason for the crash was a breather problem which meant there was oil and water dripping onto my rear tyre! The whole race I had to go really steady and just take it to the finish. Unfortunately I came home in 13th. Just 3 places behind where I needed to be. Waaay uncool!
Finished: 13th

Race 2

I had to start the 2nd race from 13th and I also had to use the spare bike which is not normally a problem but the settings on my spare for the weekend were completely different to my number 1 bike. I got a mega start though and was soon up to 6th. From there on in I picked off the riders until I got to the top 2 of Sam Warren and Matt Winstanley. I kept having brake fade problems and was having to adjust it out on several occasions. Everytime I did I would lose a load of time and I contemplated staying in 3rd to take the title. Thats no way to win a championship though and I wanted to show just what I could do so I decided I really wanted to win and the pace I was holding meant it was a relatively simple thing to do. It was great to take another British Title!

Finished: 1st

Race 3

The third race was a fairly simple affair and I soon had the lead. I took it pretty easy and was really suprised to be pulling out lap after lap by nearly a second. So I took the final win of the year and took the double British crown. I have to thank all my sponsors for all their help as without them nothing would be possible and also my family for all their support
