Qualifying
I was pretty tired with a bad cold through the week before the race and it worked its way into the race weekend. It certainly wasn't the sort of shape I wanted to be in at a circuit where I knew Delpine would be fast but the timesheets showed that I was well on the pace, espescially in the tarmac areas of the circuit. I was really struggling with not being on top form though and could only really manage a couple of fast laps at a time but luckily enough, thats all you need in qualifying and I held top spot for the main part of the session, only for Delepine to beat me in the dying minutes. It was only by a tenth though.
Finished: 2nd
Superpole
For Sunday I was feeling quite a lot better but didn't get up to any pace in the warm up before superpole. The lap itself was pretty steady but it was good and smooth at the same time. It eventually turned out to be good enough to take only my 2nd ever World Pole position by nearly three-quaters of a second.

Race 1
I got the holeshot from pole in the first race but made a mess of the first off-road and Girloami came flying past but quickly retired a few corners later. I the held the lead for 4 laps or so until I missed a gear up the big off-road hill and Delepine came past. From then on it was a 3 way fight between Delepin, me and Pignotti. We ended up in that order at the flag and I was happy enough because it was close at the end and I had really been hanging on for the most part of the race because I was so tired!
Finished: 2nd
Race 2
I was even fresher for race 2 and after knowing the pace I could run I was feeling pretty good. This time I didn't get the jump though and Girolami took the lead. He was so slow on the tarmac but there was just no place to pass but he was fast on the off-road. The times we were running were really slow and I knew if I could get to the front that I could make a break but I just couldn't get to the front. With Girolami slowing us down there was a real freight train and Gozzini came past but I was still set to make good points on Delepine and Pignotti and was still confident I could win. That is until Gozzini stalled right in frot of me and I rammed him and dropped the bike. I remounted in 6th and finally finished 5th to make 3rd overall but I was absolutely gutted. I could have won the GP and taken the lead of the championship had that not happened but I suppose that is racing. It's just one of those things and I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Finished: 5th
