Qualifying
I was really enjoying the Spanish circuit. it was the first fast circuit of the season and it may even be the only fast circuit we have this year but it was so much fun. Local hero Nestor Jorge was really going fast but to get into the top 4 was a really close affair. I put in some pretty good laps near the end which secured me a position. On the last lap though I was really going for a good lap and coming around the last corner I lost the front end and went down. It was the fastest crash I have ever had on a Supermoto bike and it was a right buzz, not that I ever want to repeat it though.
Finished: 2nd
Superpole
I immediately messed up my lap down the first off-road and there was no way of pulling the lap back from there.
Finished: 4th
Race 1
They had watered the off-road a bit before the first race and it was so slippery! I got out into 3rd and quickly got past Mariani into 2nd. Gozzini was out front and we both were running a pace that was nearly a second faster than the rest of the field. We were both stronger in different part of the circuit and it made for a very close but very frustrating race. I did get into the lead at one point but immediately made a mistake the following corner. Eventually I finished 2nd which gave me a good lead in the championship.
Finished: 2nd
Race 2
Turn 1 lead immediately into a downhill off-road full of jumps. As we went down on the first lap I was being pushed further and further wide and I made a mistake and overjumped one of the jumps. The problem was though was that I was going to land dirctly on Gozzini. I did my best to miss hm but that meant I landed all twisted and it threw me off on the next jump. I was laying on my back facing up the track and I have never ever been so scared in all my life. All I could see were bikes flying at me through the dust and I knew it was only a matter of time until I got hit. One rider did eventually clip me and it spun me around and I could see all the riders landing and crashing into my bike. It was only a few feet away from me and who knows what might have been if I was there. When I finally got up I could see a lot of fluid coming from the bike. The top of the fuel tank had been smashed off meaning there was no way of me finishing the race. I was absoultely devastated and it was so unlucky that the bike was unable to continue. The other riders involved did not all get away so lightly and I wish Lorenzo Pes and any other rider injured in the accident a fast recovery. Alesh Hlad who had a separate incicdent but was also taken to hospital is thankfully fine.
Finished: DNF
